Juma was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in July. The oncology team at Kampala Cancer Centre has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in November. He will be away from work for about 8 weeks. Juma is 51, worked as a taxi driver until July, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Kampala Cancer Centre 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
