Jack was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in February. The oncology team at the Toronto Oncology Institute has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in May. He will be away from work for about 4 weeks. Jack is 35, worked as a taxi driver until February, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Toronto Oncology Institute 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $11,300 goes: • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $8,000 • Scans and lab work: $690 • Transport to the Toronto Oncology Institute: $1,150 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $400 • Household costs while unable to work: $1,060 If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.

  • Sending love, Naomi. Wishing Jack a smooth procedure and a full recovery. After 13 years in farming I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Greetings from Likoni.
