Standing with Inés: early-stage lung cancer treatment costs
Inés is facing early-stage lung cancer and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

In August I was diagnosed with early-stage lung cancer. My oncology team at Barcelona Cancer Centre has planned 4 rounds of treatment, and the first starts in November. I was told to expect about 7 weeks away from work.
I never imagined I'd be writing something like this. I'm 37, I worked as a farmer until August, and I have been the main earner for my household.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, transport to Barcelona Cancer Centre 2 times a week, and the income I have lost add up quickly.
My family is doing everything they can, but we've already sold what we could and are borrowing for groceries.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $4,150 goes:
• Household costs while unable to work: $910
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $2,350
• Scans and lab work: $890
Thanks for being kind about this.

get well soon. I'll check back for the next update. Blessings.
Sending love. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. After 26 years in logistics I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Take care
