A repair café workshop for the Pioneer health centre yard: help our neighbors in Madurai

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a repair café workshop. This year a group of 29 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Pioneer health centre yard, but no funding. We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $100, and the remaining cost is $250. It will serve about 357 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in August and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $250 goes: • Tools hire and delivery: $35 • Materials: $175 • Permits and inspections: $40 You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.
