Standing with Ikenna: thyroid cancer treatment costs

Ikenna was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in July. The oncology team at Lagos University Hospital has planned 8 rounds of treatment, starting in September. He will be away from work for about 12 weeks. Ikenna is 37, worked as a tailor until July, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Lagos University Hospital 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
