Standing with Hannah: thyroid cancer treatment costs
Hannah is facing thyroid cancer and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

Hannah was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in December. The oncology team at Lethbridge University Hospital has planned 10 rounds of treatment, starting in April. She will be away from work for about 3 weeks.
Hannah is 44, worked as a bus conductor until December, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Lethbridge University Hospital 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $7,700 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $4,050
• Household costs while unable to work: $1,950
• Transport to Lethbridge University Hospital: $850
• Scans and lab work: $850
