Standing with Gustav: prostate cancer treatment costs

Gustav was diagnosed with prostate cancer in January. The oncology team at Stockholm University Hospital has planned 10 rounds of treatment, starting in May. He will be away from work for about 3 weeks.
Gustav is 47, worked as a bakery worker until January, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Stockholm University Hospital 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.

• Scans and lab work: $1,200
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $450

Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. chemotherapy and medication not covered comes first ($3,350) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. Good question.
