Standing with Gijs: acute lymphoblastic leukemia treatment costs

Gijs was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in August. The oncology team at Haarlem University Hospital has planned 10 rounds of treatment, starting in December. He will be away from work for about 5 weeks.
Gijs is 34, worked as a bank teller until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Haarlem University Hospital 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes.

• Scans and lab work: $1,300
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $5,000
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $600
