Genesis is facing multiple myeloma and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

Genesis was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in August. The oncology team at the Sheffield Oncology Institute has planned 8 rounds of treatment, starting in November. She will be away from work for about 10 weeks. Genesis is 43, worked as a shop owner until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Sheffield Oncology Institute 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $6,750 goes: • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $2,700 • Scans and lab work: $1,450 • Transport to the Sheffield Oncology Institute: $840 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $640 • Household costs while unable to work: $1,120 You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it. - Josephine
