Frank is facing multiple myeloma and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

Frank was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in February. The oncology team at Augsburg University Hospital has planned 10 rounds of treatment, starting in May. He will be away from work for about 8 weeks. Frank is 31, worked as a primary school teacher until February, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Augsburg University Hospital 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders. I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes. Where the $3,100 goes: • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $640 • Transport to Augsburg University Hospital: $780 • Scans and lab work: $1,680 If you're reading this, thank you. - Rainer

  • Hope the treatment goes smoothly and recovery is quick. I'm in construction myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. Thinking of Augsburg.
