Londrina
Francisco was diagnosed with early-stage lung cancer in May. The oncology team at Londrina Regional Medical Center has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in August. He will be away from work for about 12 weeks. Francisco is 48, worked as a tailor until May, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Londrina Regional Medical Center 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $2,550 goes: • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $2,050 • Scans and lab work: $290 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $210 If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people. - Raquel

    • Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Francisco

Sure. The biggest one is chemotherapy and medication not covered, $2,050. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. Good question.

    • Take care, Raquel. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did.

      • thinking of you, Raquel. Hope the doctors have good news.
