Everett is facing stomach cancer and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

Everett was diagnosed with stomach cancer in December. The oncology team at San Diego University Hospital has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in March. He will be away from work for about 7 weeks. Everett is 29, worked as a shop owner until December, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to San Diego University Hospital 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $11,750 goes: • Transport to San Diego University Hospital: $590 • Scans and lab work: $1,050 • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $8,500 • Household costs while unable to work: $1,610 Thanks for being kind about this. - Audrey

Thanks for sharing this. Hope you get there. After 20 years in nursing I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Blessings

Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. transport to San Diego University Hospital comes first ($590) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. I'll keep the page updated.
