Standing with Evans: acute lymphoblastic leukemia treatment costs
10 rounds of treatment are planned at Mbarara University Hospital; we're asking for help with the costs insurance doesn't cover.
🇺🇬 Uganda1,270 views
Evans was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in January. The oncology team at Mbarara University Hospital has planned 10 rounds of treatment, starting in March. He will be away from work for about 8 weeks.
Evans is 39, worked as a shop owner until January, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Mbarara University Hospital 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes.
Where the $350 goes:
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $105
• Scans and lab work: $195
• Transport to Mbarara University Hospital: $50
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

so sorry you're going through this, Wanjiru. Gave what I could, wish it was more. My colleague had a similar thing happen so this one hit home
Thinking of you and your family. Hope the treatment goes smoothly and recovery is quick. Put this on a community board in Ikeja this morning. All the best.
Hope things get better soon. Hope this works out for you. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Greetings from Benin City.
Take care. Get well soon. I went through something like this 2 years ago and strangers helped me out. All the best.
