Standing with Eli: thyroid cancer treatment costs

Eli was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in August. The oncology team at Los Angeles Cancer Centre has planned 4 rounds of treatment, starting in December. He will be away from work for about 5 weeks.
Eli is 38, worked as a construction supervisor until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Los Angeles Cancer Centre 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $6,000 goes:
• Household costs while unable to work: $1,600
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $3,250
• Scans and lab work: $1,150
