San Jose
Eli was diagnosed with kidney cancer in August. The oncology team at San Jose Regional Medical Center has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in November. He will be away from work for about 5 weeks. Eli is 45, worked as a tailor until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to San Jose Regional Medical Center 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders. I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes. Where the $7,000 goes: • Transport to San Jose Regional Medical Center: $610 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $540 • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $3,950 • Household costs while unable to work: $1,900 Thank you so much. - Lydia

It's all in the list in the story. transport to San Jose Regional Medical Center is the big one at $610, I'll post a receipt when it's paid. Let me know if you want more detail.

    • So sorry you're going through this. Hope the doctors have good news. After 11 years in teaching I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Take care
