Standing with Dylan: cervical cancer treatment costs

Dylan is facing cervical cancer and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

Dylan was diagnosed with cervical cancer in November. The oncology team at Hamilton Regional Medical Center has planned 4 rounds of treatment, starting in February. He will be away from work for about 4 weeks. Dylan is 56, worked as a tailor until November, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Hamilton Regional Medical Center 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders. I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes. Where the $8,150 goes: • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $3,500 • Scans and lab work: $1,650 • Transport to Hamilton Regional Medical Center: $880 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $450 • Household costs while unable to work: $1,670 If you're reading this, thank you. - Delilah

  • Hope things get better soon, Delilah. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. We're a small family in Paris but we're thinking of you. All the best.

Sending love, Delilah. Hope the doctors have good news

      • Best of luck, Delilah. It takes guts to ask. Well done. After 16 years in teaching I know how hard it's to ask for anything.

        • Thanks for sharing this. Hope this works out for you. Thinking of Hamilton

Good luck. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Greetings from Bogra.

            • Keep going, Delilah. Wishing Dylan a smooth procedure and a full recovery. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Blessings.
