Dennis was diagnosed with a rare sarcoma in June. The oncology team at Nairobi University Hospital has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in August. He will be away from work for about 4 weeks. Dennis is 56, worked as a bus conductor until June, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Nairobi University Hospital 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $550 goes: • Household costs while unable to work: $260 • Scans and lab work: $130 • Transport to Nairobi University Hospital: $160 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

  • take care. Hope the doctors have good news. My mother had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Greetings from San Diego

    • Thinking of you, Neema. Gave what I could, wish it was more. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double.

      • Stay strong, Neema. Shared it with a few friends. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Love from Epe.

        • Praying for you, Neema. Shared this with my family. Wish I lived closer to Sydney so I could bring a meal.

          • good luck. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Thinking of Nairobi
