Daan was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma in August. The oncology team at Amsterdam University Hospital has planned 4 rounds of treatment, starting in November. He will be away from work for about 5 weeks.
Daan is 49, worked as a bus conductor until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Amsterdam University Hospital 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $2,600 goes:
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $340
• Transport to Amsterdam University Hospital: $750
• Household costs while unable to work: $1,510
