Standing with Crystal: colon cancer treatment costs
6 rounds of treatment are planned at Newcastle Cancer Centre; we're asking for help with the costs insurance doesn't cover.
🇦🇺 Australia919 views
Crystal was diagnosed with colon cancer in November. The oncology team at Newcastle Cancer Centre has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in February. She will be away from work for about 6 weeks.
Crystal is 39, worked as a tailor until November, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Newcastle Cancer Centre 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes.
Where the $4,950 goes:
• Scans and lab work: $1,350
• Transport to Newcastle Cancer Centre: $510
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $860
• Household costs while unable to work: $2,230
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.
