Standing with Cláudio: prostate cancer treatment costs

Cláudio was diagnosed with prostate cancer in July. The oncology team at the Porto Alegre Oncology Institute has planned 8 rounds of treatment, starting in October. He will be away from work for about 3 weeks. Cláudio is 49, worked as a cleaner at a hospital until July, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Porto Alegre Oncology Institute 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
