Standing with Charalambos: thyroid cancer treatment costs
Charalambos is facing thyroid cancer and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

In March I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. My oncology team at Thessaloniki Cancer Centre has planned 6 rounds of treatment, and the first starts in June. I was told to expect about 6 weeks away from work.
I never imagined I'd be writing something like this. I'm 40, I worked as a bus conductor until March, and I have been the main earner for my household.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, transport to Thessaloniki Cancer Centre 2 times a week, and the income I have lost add up quickly.
My family is doing everything they can, but we've already sold what we could and are borrowing for groceries.
I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes.
Where the $4,850 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $2,800
• Scans and lab work: $770
• Transport to Thessaloniki Cancer Centre: $550
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $150
• Household costs while unable to work: $580

Sure. The biggest one is chemotherapy and medication not covered, $2,800. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. Thanks for asking.
