Bilal was diagnosed with prostate cancer in November. The oncology team at the Naples Oncology Institute has planned 8 rounds of treatment, starting in March. He will be away from work for about 5 weeks.
Bilal is 30, worked as a bus conductor until November, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Naples Oncology Institute 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $7,800 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $4,750
• Scans and lab work: $780
• Transport to the Naples Oncology Institute: $830
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $440
• Household costs while unable to work: $1,000

Hope things get better soon. Hope the treatment goes smoothly and recovery is quick. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected!
