Berk was diagnosed with kidney cancer in August. The oncology team at Bornova University Hospital has planned 4 rounds of treatment, starting in November. He will be away from work for about 6 weeks. Berk is 43, worked as a primary school teacher until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Bornova University Hospital 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
