Standing with Benjamin: thyroid cancer treatment costs
Benjamin is facing thyroid cancer and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

Benjamin was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in July. The oncology team at the Albany Oncology Institute has planned 4 rounds of treatment, starting in October. He will be away from work for about 12 weeks.
Benjamin is 38, worked as a taxi driver until July, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Albany Oncology Institute 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes.

• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $720
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $5,250
• Transport to the Albany Oncology Institute: $670
• Household costs while unable to work: $1,660
