Kampala
Atim was diagnosed with a rare sarcoma in August. The oncology team at Kampala University Hospital has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in October. She will be away from work for about 10 weeks. Atim is 25, worked as a construction supervisor until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Kampala University Hospital 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $1,450 goes: • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $910 • Scans and lab work: $110 • Transport to Kampala University Hospital: $90 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $110 • Household costs while unable to work: $230 If you're reading this, thank you.
