Anitha was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in November. The oncology team at Hyderabad University Hospital has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in January. She will be away from work for about 7 weeks. Anitha is 46, worked as a nurse until November, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Hyderabad University Hospital 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $1,150 goes: • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $640 • Scans and lab work: $170 • Transport to Hyderabad University Hospital: $100 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $125 • Household costs while unable to work: $115 Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.

Updates from Mohan

  1. We're at 10% thanks to 2 of you. I met with the treatment center and confirmed the amounts. More news soon.

  2. Small update. $100 so far, I made the first payment toward transport to Hyderabad University Hospital.
