Andrew was diagnosed with kidney cancer in May. The oncology team at Newcastle upon Tyne University Hospital has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in September. He will be away from work for about 8 weeks. Andrew is 48, worked as a bus conductor until May, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Newcastle upon Tyne University Hospital 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $4,550 goes: • Transport to Newcastle upon Tyne University Hospital: $580 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $280 • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $2,850 • Scans and lab work: $840 I hope life is good to you.
