Standing with Alexei: early-stage lung cancer treatment costs
Alexei is facing early-stage lung cancer and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

Alexei was diagnosed with early-stage lung cancer in August. The oncology team at Zaporizhzhia University Hospital has planned 8 rounds of treatment, starting in November. He will be away from work for about 3 weeks.
Alexei is 48, worked as a bank teller until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Zaporizhzhia University Hospital 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $1,700 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $1,050
• Scans and lab work: $130
• Transport to Zaporizhzhia University Hospital: $165
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $160
• Household costs while unable to work: $195
