Standing with Adhiambo: stage 3 ovarian cancer treatment costs
Adhiambo is facing stage 3 ovarian cancer and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.
🇰🇪 Kenya1,169 views
Adhiambo was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer in August. The oncology team at Embakasi Cancer Centre has planned 10 rounds of treatment, starting in November. She will be away from work for about 8 weeks.
Adhiambo is 54, worked as a construction supervisor until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Embakasi Cancer Centre 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes.
Where the $850 goes:
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $70
• Scans and lab work: $210
• Transport to Embakasi Cancer Centre: $220
• Household costs while unable to work: $350
Thank you for reading my story.

Rooting for you. This could happen to any of us. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Thinking of Embakasi
Keep going, Musyoka. I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. Greetings from Bonny
