Vancouver
Abril was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma in July. The oncology team at Vancouver Cancer Centre has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in September. She will be away from work for about 6 weeks. Abril is 27, worked as a bank teller until July, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Vancouver Cancer Centre 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes. Where the $12,850 goes: • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $9,500 • Scans and lab work: $750 • Transport to Vancouver Cancer Centre: $570 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $810 • Household costs while unable to work: $1,220 Every share and every dollar helps. - Bruno

Updates from Bruno

  1. Small update. $2,960 so far, the plan for household costs while unable to work is now scheduled.

  2. Update from Vancouver: the plan for nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team is now scheduled. We're at 16% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.

What's already covered and what's the $12,850 for?

Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. chemotherapy and medication not covered comes first ($9,500) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. It helps to be asked.

    • You're not alone, Bruno. Hope you get there.

            • Keep going. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I went through something like this 3 years ago and strangers helped me out. Love from Curitiba.
