Anthony was diagnosed with kidney cancer in November. The oncology team at Toulon Regional Medical Center has planned 10 rounds of treatment, starting in February. He will be away from work for about 5 weeks. Anthony is 35, worked as a construction supervisor until November, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Toulon Regional Medical Center 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $6,150 goes: • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $3,000 • Scans and lab work: $860 • Transport to Toulon Regional Medical Center: $480 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $280 • Household costs while unable to work: $1,530 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support. - Fabrice

  • Thanks for sharing this, Fabrice. Your post was clear and honest. I went through something like this 2 years ago and strangers helped me out. Love from San Jose.

    • So sorry you're going through this, Fabrice. This could happen to any of us. After 10 years in social work I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Greetings from Saket.

      • Rooting for you, Fabrice. Hope the treatment goes smoothly and recovery is quick. We're a small family in Cardiff but we're thinking of you.

Hope things get better soon. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I hope February is when things finally get easier.

          • Thinking of you and your family, Fabrice. I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. My neighbor in Nairobi donated after I showed her your page.

            • Hope it all works out, Fabrice. Shared this with my family. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected
