Sri was diagnosed with a torn ligament that needs reconstruction in February. The surgeon at Medan Orthopedic Institute recommended gallbladder removal, and She is scheduled for June. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $250, and after what our health plan will pay we're still $200 short. my daughter has been in and out of Medan Orthopedic Institute since February. The doctors say a torn ligament that needs reconstruction will get worse without gallbladder removal. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $250 is more than we can find. While we wait, Sri struggles with daily life and can't work a full shift. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. Rehabilitation is expected to take about 6 weeks. During that time Sri won't be able to work a full shift, so the costs keep growing.
