A scheduled spinal decompression surgery in May is out of reach without help covering $2,850 of the cost.

Tammy was diagnosed with a benign brain tumor in March. The surgeon at Vancouver Community Hospital recommended spinal decompression surgery, and She is scheduled for May. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $4,050, and after what my insurance will pay we're still $2,850 short. my daughter has been in and out of Vancouver Community Hospital since March. The doctors say a benign brain tumor will get worse without spinal decompression surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $4,050 is more than we can find. While we wait, Tammy struggles with daily life and can't look after the children alone. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. Rehabilitation is expected to take about 4 weeks. During that time Tammy won't be able to look after the children alone, so the costs keep growing. I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section. Where the $2,850 goes: • Hospital stay (2 nights): $1,850 • Pre-operative tests and imaging: $660 • Post-operative medication: $340 Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself. - Silas
