Spinal decompression surgery for Imran: covering what insurance won't
Imran needs spinal decompression surgery at Cox's Bazar Community Hospital and the family is $900 short of the hospital's estimate.

Imran was diagnosed with a cleft palate needing repair in March. The surgeon at Cox's Bazar Community Hospital recommended spinal decompression surgery, and He is scheduled for June. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,150, and after what my insurance will pay we're still $900 short.
my husband has been in and out of Cox's Bazar Community Hospital since March. The doctors say a cleft palate needing repair will get worse without spinal decompression surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,150 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Imran struggles with daily life and can't climb stairs. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 12 weeks. During that time Imran won't be able to climb stairs, so the costs keep growing.
I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section.
Where the $900 goes:
• Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $450
• Physiotherapy sessions: $70
• Travel and lodging for the family: $65
• Hospital stay (4 nights): $315
