After a herniated spinal disc, Elena was cleared for spinal decompression surgery, but the bill is more than we can manage.

Elena was diagnosed with a herniated spinal disc in September. The surgeon at Moscow Orthopedic Institute recommended spinal decompression surgery, and She is scheduled for November. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,700, and after what my insurance will pay we're still $850 short. my sister has been in and out of Moscow Orthopedic Institute since September. The doctors say a herniated spinal disc will get worse without spinal decompression surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,700 is more than we can find. While we wait, Elena struggles with daily life and can't drive. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. Rehabilitation is expected to take about 4 weeks. During that time Elena won't be able to drive, so the costs keep growing. The money goes straight to the treatment bills, and I'll share the invoices as they're paid so you can see exactly what your gift did. Where the $850 goes: • Hospital stay (4 nights): $430 • Travel and lodging for the family: $120 • Physiotherapy sessions: $185 • Pre-operative tests and imaging: $115 If you're reading this, thank you.

Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Thinking of Moscow.
