Amani was diagnosed with a cleft palate needing repair in January. The surgeon at Kikuyu Community Hospital recommended spinal decompression surgery, and She is scheduled for April. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,550, and after what my employer's plan will pay we're still $1,250 short.
my mother has been in and out of Kikuyu Community Hospital since January. The doctors say a cleft palate needing repair will get worse without spinal decompression surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,550 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Amani struggles with daily life and can't work a full shift. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
The recovery period is expected to take about 3 weeks. During that time Amani won't be able to work a full shift, so the costs keep growing.

Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. surgeon and anesthesia fees comes first ($680) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid.
