Soo-jin's prostate cancer treatment fund
Soo-jin is facing prostate cancer and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

In July I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. My oncology team at Seoul University Hospital has planned 4 rounds of treatment, and the first starts in October. I was told to expect about 10 weeks away from work.
I never imagined I'd be writing something like this. I'm 40, I worked as a shop owner until July, and I have been the main earner for my household.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, transport to Seoul University Hospital 2 times a week, and the income I have lost add up quickly.
My family is doing everything they can, but we've already sold what we could and are borrowing for groceries.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $6,250 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $3,450
• Scans and lab work: $720
• Transport to Seoul University Hospital: $560
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $450
• Household costs while unable to work: $1,070
