Sofía's gallbladder removal can't wait - please help us cover the bill
After a herniated spinal disc, Sofía was cleared for gallbladder removal, but the bill is more than we can manage.

In June I was diagnosed with a herniated spinal disc. My surgeon at Detroit Community Hospital recommended gallbladder removal, and I have been placed on the schedule for October. The hospital's financial office gave me a written estimate of $5,250, and after what my employer's plan will pay, I'm still $4,100 short.
Doctors at Detroit Community Hospital told me a herniated spinal disc will get worse without gallbladder removal. I work as a school bus driver, and I have saved what I can, but the estimate of $5,250 is far beyond what I've.
Until the surgery I can't work full days, and my hours as a school bus driver have already been cut. Every week of waiting means more pain and a bigger risk.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 12 weeks. I'll not be able to walk without help during that time, so this has become a financial emergency as well as a medical one.
