Silas served twelve years; now needs help to get home
Silas served twelve years in the engineering corps; $3,250 would cover a trained service dog and handler course.

I served twelve years in the engineering corps and was discharged in 2023 with a back injury. I have been waiting seven months for support, and meanwhile I'm sleeping at my brother's place.
I have a plan: a trained service dog and handler course. The quote I have comes to $3,250.
I'm receiving counseling through the veterans' clinic and am committed to my recovery. Structure and a stable place to live are the missing pieces.
I'd be grateful for any help and will share updates on how I'm doing.
Money will be paid to the training provider and the landlord directly.
Where the $3,250 goes:
• Training provider fees: $2,350
• Transport to appointments: $340
• Essential household items: $560
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

Hope it all works out. I hope things turn around soon. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Greetings from Kochi.
you're not alone. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. All the best!
