Silas's final semester of an agriculture degree in Allentown

Silas has worked and saved for four years to study an agriculture degree; a $1,400 gap now stands between him and graduation.

Silas is the first person in the family to go to university. He is studying an agriculture degree at Allentown Community College, and is two terms away from graduating. He has worked as a delivery rider to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $1,400. The registrar has said Silas can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Silas has a 3.8 average, and a department head has written in support. Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Silas would lose his place and scholarship eligibility. Silas isn't asking for a handout - He wants to finish what He started and help the next student. The payment will go directly to the Allentown Community College bursar's office. I'll post the receipt. Where the $1,400 goes: • Outstanding tuition balance: $940 • Exam and lab fees: $95 • Textbooks and materials: $365 I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to. - Emery

Updates from Emery

  1. Small update. $355 so far, the first invoice got paid this week.

  2. Thank you all. We're at 11% now ($155). I'm honestly stunned. I made the first payment toward outstanding tuition balance.

Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. My neighbor in Dehiwala donated after I showed her your page.
