Shyam received an eviction notice - help us catch up on rent
A divorce left Shyam short on rent for 4 months; help us stay in our home.

When the restaurant closed in April, I fell 4 months behind on rent. Last Thursday a final eviction notice was taped to my door, and the amount I owe is $400.
My landlord has been understanding for a while, but he has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by July, we must leave.
I have a toddler and a baby at home. Moving isn't just an expense - it would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
I have started working weekend shifts, and I'm applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
Funds go to the landlord and nowhere else. Any amount left over after the arrears are cleared will go toward next month's rent.
Where the $400 goes:
• First month of rent as a buffer: $115
• Rent arrears (4 months): $230
• Late fees and court costs: $55
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

a secure home matters so much. Hope you're settled soon. Thinking of Kathmandu.
Sending strength, Shyam. Shared it with a few friends. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Thinking of Kathmandu
Take care, Shyam. Hope this works out for you.
Hang in there, Shyam. I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together. I'll check back for the next update. All the best.
