Shinji needs two washing machines and a dryer to reopen a laundry service

Shinji has run a laundry service for nine years; a long illness and repossession destroyed the equipment, and $850 will put it back on its feet.

For nine years I have run a laundry service in Sakai. In August, a long illness and repossession took two washing machines and a dryer. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me. Before that, my customers came every Monday, and I employed 3 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 7 weeks. This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment. Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item. Once I'm back on my feet I plan to hire back the people I had to let go. Where the $850 goes: • Initial stock: detergent and packaging: $250 • Shop repairs and licensing: $370 • Working capital for the first month: $230 I hope life is good to you.

Updates from Shinji

  1. Good news. Because of your gifts ($368 in total) the plan for shop repairs and licensing is now scheduled. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

  2. Quick update: $254 raised so far (30%). I made the first payment toward shop repairs and licensing. Receipts coming as soon as I have them.

  3. Thank you all. We're at 10% now ($84). I'm honestly stunned. we've booked the dates and paid the deposit.
