Sherbrooke wildfire relief - the Orchard settlement
After the wildfire, families in the Orchard settlement need clean water, roofing materials and bedding.

The wildfire hit the Orchard settlement on 1 October. My home was one of 17 damaged, and 13 families are still in temporary shelter at a mosque and church hall.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates.
Where the $5,100 goes:
• Roofing sheets and timber: $1,450
• Clean water and purification supplies: $840
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $690
• Food parcels for displaced families: $860
• Tools and labor for repairs: $1,260
Thank you so much.

Good luck, Ruth. Shared this with my family. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money.
