Materials are donated. We need two carpenters and a helper for a weekend in Newcastle.

Serenity has used a wheelchair since 2023, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Serenity can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair. The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two. The ramp has to meet the building-code slope requirement, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate six hours of work. Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Serenity's family will cook lunch for the team. Thank you for reading my story.

    • you're not alone, Samantha. I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. Don't be hard on yourself for asking

      • best of luck, Samantha. Shared this with my family. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. God bless.

Hope it all works out, Samantha. I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Take care.
