Trisha was diagnosed with a hernia that has become strangulated in December. The surgeon at Saint Joseph Hospital recommended septoplasty, and She is scheduled for February. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $250, and after what my insurance will pay we're still $150 short. my sister has been in and out of Saint Joseph Hospital since December. The doctors say a hernia that has become strangulated will get worse without septoplasty. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $250 is more than we can find. While we wait, Trisha struggles with daily life and can't look after the children alone. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. The recovery period is expected to take about 3 weeks. During that time Trisha won't be able to look after the children alone, so the costs keep growing. The money goes straight to the treatment bills, and I'll share the invoices as they're paid so you can see exactly what your gift did. Where the $150 goes: • Post-operative medication: $60 • Pre-operative tests and imaging: $50 • Travel and lodging for the family: $40 Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

  1. Quick update: $109 raised so far (73%). I made the first payment toward pre-operative tests and imaging. Receipts coming as soon as I have them.

  2. Thank you all. We're at 73% now ($109). I'm honestly stunned. the plan for travel and lodging for the family is now scheduled.

  3. Small update. $35 so far, I met with the hospital and confirmed the amounts.
