Musyoka was diagnosed with a herniated spinal disc in August. The surgeon at Kakamega University Hospital recommended septoplasty, and He is scheduled for November. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,450, and after what the government subsidy will pay we're still $1,000 short. my husband has been in and out of Kakamega University Hospital since August. The doctors say a herniated spinal disc will get worse without septoplasty. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,450 is more than we can find. While we wait, Musyoka struggles with daily life and can't drive. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. Rehabilitation is expected to take about 4 weeks. During that time Musyoka won't be able to drive, so the costs keep growing. The money goes straight to the treatment bills, and I'll share the invoices as they're paid so you can see exactly what your gift did. Where the $1,000 goes: • Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $610 • Hospital stay (5 nights): $195 • Pre-operative tests and imaging: $60 • Post-operative medication: $60 • Physiotherapy sessions: $55 • Travel and lodging for the family: $20 With deep gratitude, Wangari
