Septoplasty for Joyce: covering what insurance won't

Joyce was diagnosed with osteoarthritis in the right knee in July. The surgeon at Auckland General Hospital recommended septoplasty, and She is scheduled for October. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $6,500, and after what our health plan will pay we're still $4,600 short.
my daughter has been in and out of Auckland General Hospital since July. The doctors say osteoarthritis in the right knee will get worse without septoplasty. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $6,500 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Joyce struggles with daily life and can't look after the children alone. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 10 weeks. During that time Joyce won't be able to look after the children alone, so the costs keep growing.
