Itzel was diagnosed with gallstones with repeated infections in December. The surgeon at Charlotte Orthopedic Institute recommended septoplasty, and She is scheduled for April. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $5,750, and after what my employer's plan will pay we're still $2,900 short.
my sister has been in and out of Charlotte Orthopedic Institute since December. The doctors say gallstones with repeated infections will get worse without septoplasty. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $5,750 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Itzel struggles with daily life and can't lift anything heavy. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
The recovery period is expected to take about 8 weeks. During that time Itzel won't be able to lift anything heavy, so the costs keep growing.
