Ingrid was diagnosed with gallstones with repeated infections in July. The surgeon at Essen Regional Medical Center recommended septoplasty, and She is scheduled for November. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $8,000, and after what the public health scheme will pay we're still $4,800 short.
my wife has been in and out of Essen Regional Medical Center since July. The doctors say gallstones with repeated infections will get worse without septoplasty. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $8,000 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Ingrid struggles with daily life and can't look after the children alone. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 7 weeks. During that time Ingrid won't be able to look after the children alone, so the costs keep growing.
