Fernanda was diagnosed with gallstones with repeated infections in July. The surgeon at Ciudad de México General Hospital recommended septoplasty, and She is scheduled for October. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $2,550, and after what the public health scheme will pay we're still $1,900 short.
my mother has been in and out of Ciudad de México General Hospital since July. The doctors say gallstones with repeated infections will get worse without septoplasty. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $2,550 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Fernanda struggles with daily life and can't work a full shift. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 6 weeks. During that time Fernanda won't be able to work a full shift, so the costs keep growing.
